Harold Mesibov
(1928 - )
Mesibov was born in Philadelphia:
son of an Artist and brother of an Artist.
Art surrounded him.
His studies began at the
Graphic Sketch Club in Philadelphia.
He was drawn to study at the Barns Foundation,
where he developed a
personal
relationship with Albert Barns.
After WWII he returned to finish studies
at the Tyler School of Art and the
Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.
By 1950, Mesibov developed
a connection with Abstract Art which
has continued and progressed through
his career.
He paints in an a la prima fashion
and puts
the abstracted figure in a spatial arrangement. His paintings communicate
the depths of human emotion and
unexplored possibilities in the figure.
Here are examples from the 1950's.
